March 9, 2009

Back to work and off the snack wagon; it really got a little excessive last weekend. Within my boundaries, but pushing on their edges, and I seem to see some correlation between constant snacking and higher fasting glucose; I'm going to want to keep an eye on that.

The usual bacon for breakfast; no carbs, 10g protein.

Lunch was at TGI Friday's, their Key West shrimp, which is tagged as a low-carb item. 12g carbs, about 32g protein.

I actually cooked dinner! Hamburger steak and broccoli plus ranch dressing, for 8g carbs, 40g protein.

I'm actually not sure what this cheese is; I bought at the local fancy-pants grocery store, and it was the last wedge of the type and not really informatively labeled. It's firm but not super soft, with some holes, a little nutty, maybe like a softer, fresher Emmentaler. Interesting; I need to go back and see if I can figure out what it was. Anyway, 2.5 ounces have no carbs, 15g protein, or thereabouts.

Totals for today are 20g carbs, 97g protein.
