I had yogurt instead of bacon this morning, because I knew I was having a business lunch that was likely to be both large and earlier than usual. Also, I've found some new CarbMaster flavors and wanted to try them; this strawberry pomegranate is good, although I still like peach better. 3g carbs, 12g protein.
This was a great lunch! Very fresh mozzarella with basil and grilled eggplant for a starter, and then some really luscious scallops and an arugula/fennel salad (the chef's recommended sub for the cauliflower risotto this would usually feature). About 10g carbs, and 40g protein.
Dinner was simple; I split a steak with my oldest child, and had broccoli as a side. About 5g carbs, 25g protein.
An experimental snack -- I'd been told that you could make cheese crisps by microwaving American cheese slices. Indeed you can! It's kind of nifty -- they bubble and melt and puff all up, and then almost instantly harden when the microwave stops, and end up light and puffy, with a slightly crunchy, slightly chewy texture. The taste was a little odd, though, so I'm not sure about them; my microwave is old and has odd hot and cold spots, though, so I might try this again in one that's a little more uniform, since I think I may have overcooked the outer ones trying to get the middle one done enough. 1g carbs (American cheese has more than most) and 3g protein.
Totals for today were 19g carbs, 80g protein.
