February 8, 2009

Okay, I am officially pleased with this recipe now. I'm using 1 scoop (which is about 4tbsp) of Whole Foods whey protein powder, 3/4 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp oil, 1 tbsp Da Vinci syrup, 1 tbsp water, and 1 large egg; I mix the dry stuff, then add all the wet stuff except the egg and mix that, and then add the egg last (if I add the egg before the protein powder is all moistened, then it clumps and won't mix). It pours nicely and stays relatively contained, and makes pancakes that actually feel like pancakes instead of crepes (not in themselves objectionable, but not what I was after). With sugar-free syrup, my breakfast had 3g carbs, and 23g protein.

Lunch was just 4 eggs, hard boiled and deviled, with mayo, mustard, and sugar-free sweet relish. About 5g carbs, 26g protein.

For dinner I had broccoli and meatballs, and also a cup of CarbMaster yogurt so I didn't come in too low on protein today. About 13g carbs, 29g protein.

And I also ate the one mini Toblerone bar that I wound up not eating a couple of days ago. 3g carbs, less than half a gram protein so I'm not counting it.

Totals for today were 24g carbs, 78g protein (close enough).
