Breakfast was kind of a scattershot -- two sausage patties, 1.5 ounces of cheddar, and enough blueberries to constitute 10g carbs. Total of about 12g carbs (the sausage had a bit), and 15g protein.
I didn't so much "eat lunch" as snack all afternoon, mostly on the low-carb part of the contents of various gift baskets from the holidays. First 2 oz of gouda and 3 oz of beef summer sausage, then about 5 oz of honey roasted turkey, and then an ounce of nuts and 5 low-carb macaroons. Yum! Totals of about 13g carbs, and about 75g protein.
Also, while I didn't take a picture of it, I have to confess: I had more than one swipe through the frosting on the leftover birthday cake, while cutting pieces for the kids and their friends. It was spread out, so I didn't seriously pop my blood sugar at any one point, but totals count, and I probably need to add in about 15 carbs for this. That sugar/fat combo sure is hard to resist! Mmmm, buttercream. Fortunately, the cake is now gone.
I didn't feel like cooking dinner, and my kids were eating leftovers, so I had 4 hardboiled eggs. Delicious -- it's so worth buying organic, free-range eggs. About 2g carbs, about 24g protein.
Late in the evening, I felt like having a snack, but knew I really wasn't hungry -- I just had the munchies. So I had some pickles. They're perfect for this situation, since they don't have any carbs, protein, or fat -- they're basically water that goes crunch.
Totals for today were 43g carbs, and 114g protein. I've had better days.
